Install a 32 bits Java virtual machine
Assuming you are using Edge in IE mode, after clicking on OK from one of our applet pages, your browser will show you a popup saying that you need to support Java, figure 1 and the web page will look like figure 2: you need to install a 32 bits Java virtual machine.

Download and install a 32bits Java virtual machine
As of 2024, most computers run in 64 bits mode, including the Edge browser. So, if you ask to install Java from the java.com web site, the proposed version will default to 64 bits. But when running in Internet Explorer mode, 32 bits mode is activated. You will need to look for a 32 bits java virtual machine, do be downloaded in manual mode Windows Offline (not 64-bits). If the java.com page does not automatically open, please copy manually the following address to your browser: https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp. Accept the cookie options, otherwise you won’t be able to download the software. Once you will have installed it, you will be ready to configure Edge to run the applets in in Internet Explorer mode.
